Madison police investigate deadly single-vehicle crash on I-55
Madison police are investigating a deadly single-vehicle crash on Interstate 55.Officers and firefighters responded just before 1:35 a.m., Monday morning to the southbound side of I-55 near mile marker 109.Police say a Volkswagen Passat left the roadway, went into the center median, and struck an embankment in the drainage ditch between the northbound and southbound bridges.The driver, who was the only person in the car, was found dead at the scene.The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of family members.The crash remains under investigation by the Madison Police Department.
