Luzerne County motorcyclist killed in Pennsylvania Turnpike crash
Luzerne County man died Tuesday afternoon after his motorcycle collided with a tractor-trailer on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Lehigh County. The Lehigh County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 39-year-old Kory A. Stokes of Foster Township. According to the coroner, Stokes was operating the motorcycle when it was involved in a crash with a tractor-trailer on the northbound Pennsylvania Turnpike near mile marker 63.1 at about 4:25 p.m. Stokes was pronounced dead at 5:28 p.m. in the emergency department at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. An autopsy determined he died from multiple traumatic injuries sustained in the collision. The manner of death was ruled accidental. Officials said Stokes was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The Pennsylvania State Police Pocono Station is investigating the collision in conjunction with the Lehigh County Coroner's Office.
