Uniform Force members arrived at the scene at around 11:00 p.m. after receiving reports of 41-year-old Jamell Works crashing into a home, according to Public Information Officer Jennifer Jiron. Jiron explained that 38-year-old Brendan Kearney and a witness attempted to have Works exit the Vehicle. But Works, who sat in the driver's seat, refused to leave. Following that argument, Kearney reached for the keys on the driver's side, Jiron said. Works then accelerated the car in reverse, dragging Kearney a short distance and crashing into the living room of a nearby house, added Jiron. According to Jiron, Kearney was thrown into the pavement and suffered serious injuries, including a brain bleed. He was later taken to Upstate University Hospital, where he remains in critical condition, she said.
