Identifying victim in fatal Burlington crash: Robin Vos' uncle

A tragic incident occurred early Tuesday when an 88-year-old man from the City of Burlington was fatally hit by a vehicle while crossing North Main Street, as reported by the police. The Racine County Communications Center was alerted about the pedestrian accident just after 5 a.m. near Main and State. When responding officers and firefighters arrived, they found the pedestrian had suffered fatal injuries. Despite their efforts to save him, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The pedestrian, identified as 88-year-old James Vos, was struck by a southbound vehicle as he tried to cross the street from a private parking lot. The driver, a 41-year-old resident of the City of Burlington, remained at the scene and was unharmed, and no criminal charges had been filed as of Tuesday morning. Police are investigating factors such as the cause of the accident, speed, visibility, and roadway conditions, and anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact 262-342-1104.
