Teen on e-scooter dies at hospital after being hit by car in Beaverton
The 14-year-old boy who was hit by a car while riding on an electric scooter in Beaverton on Wednesday has died, police confirmed. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, police said. The injured teen was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where he later died. The Multnomah County Medical Examiner’s Office will officially release the victim’s identity pending notification of next of kin. A GoFundMe page created for the family's expenses identified the boy as Jacob Tran. The driver has only been identified as a 16-year-old boy. Investigators say the teen driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police. The cause of the crash has not yet been determined. The case remains under investigation.
