Idaho State Police investigate I-84 crash east of Boise that shut lanes for 13 hours

A late-night crash on Interstate 84 east of Boise shut down the westbound lanes for more than half a day as Idaho State Police investigated and crews worked to clear the scene. Idaho State Police is investigating the crash that occurred Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 10:25 p.m. on I-84 at mile marker 67, east of Boise. Police said a vehicle was pulled over on the westbound side of I-84. The driver exited the vehicle and was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound on I-84. The westbound lanes of I-84 were blocked for approximately 13 hours to allow emergency responders to assist those involved and clear the scene. The lanes have reopened. The incident remains under investigation by Idaho State Police. Police have not released any further details about the incident.
