I-20 East Shreveport: Driver killed in single-vehicle crash
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — Officers with the Shreveport Police Department responded to a major crash at the Pines Road entrance ramp to Interstate 20 East on May 21, 2026, at approximately 7:42 p.m. Officers arrived and discovered a single-vehicle crash involving a blue 2004 Chevrolet Corvette. Investigators determined that the vehicle had struck a guardrail while traveling on the eastbound on-ramp, then left the roadway and traveled approximately 50 yards into a grassy area. The driver remained inside the vehicle and suffered severe abdominal injuries after the guardrail penetrated the driver's side door. The Shreveport Fire Department responded and transported the driver to Ochsner LSU Health with life-threatening injuries. The investigation thus far indicates that the Corvette was traveling on a wet roadway when it lost control, began to slide sideways, and struck the guardrail. The Caddo Parish Coroner's Office later informed investigators that the driver had died from injuries sustained in the crash. The causes of the crash are still under investigation.
