Fundraiser launched to aid teen’s medical recovery after car crash

MONTROSE, Colo. (KREX) — An online fundraiser has been created to help alleviate a teenager's medical costs after a car crash. Kyrie Hill, 17, was the passenger in a vehicle that was involved in a crash on High Mesa Road in Montrose. Due to the serious injuries she sustained in the crash, she had to be transported from a local hospital to the Children's Hospital Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora by a medical airplane. Kyrie Hill has since undergone major spinal surgery to stabilize her spine, which was fractured in two places, and has spent multiple days in the hospital. Organized on Tuesday, the fundraiser, with a current $30,000 goal, aims to alleviate the costs of emergency transport, life flight, intensive care, surgery, hospitalization and rehabilitation. "The medical costs are overwhelming and ongoing," stated Taryn Hill, Kyrie's brother, in the GoFundMe description. "We are asking for support to help cover medical bills and future care so she can focus fully on healing rather than financial stress." To learn more about the fundraiser, visit www.gofundme.com.
