First responders rescue surviving victims of deadly San Fernando Valley crash

First responders rushed to the scene of a deadly single-vehicle crash in the Porter Ranch neighborhood of the San Fernando Valley on Sunday morning, rescuing two surviving victims as a third perished. Not much was known about the crash right away; officials with the Los Angeles Police and Los Angeles Fire departments were able to confirm to KTLA that the incident involved one car that collided with a light pole in the 10500 block of Tampa Avenue around 10:10 a.m. Video from the scene taken by people nearby shows the black sedan had crumpled upon crashing into the pole and some adjacent foliage. According to LAFD, three people were in the car at the time of the crash – two were transported to a hospital in serious condition and a third was pronounced dead at the scene. The two surviving victims were freed from the wreckage successfully, with LAFD noting “no extrication issues.”  The ages and genders of the three victims were not known right away.  It is also not immediately known what caused the crash.
