FHP officer hurt, 2 arrested following crash on I-95 after pursuit
A trooper from the Florida Highway Patrol was taken to the hospital after a high-speed chase and collision on Interstate 95. The pursuit involved a 2020 Mercedes-Benz C-Class that was driving recklessly in the southbound lanes of the highway. During the chase, a trooper used a PIT maneuver to try to stop the Mercedes, causing both vehicles to veer off the road and crash into a guardrail. The trooper's injuries are not life-threatening. The driver and passenger of the Mercedes have been arrested, with the passenger having an outstanding warrant from Broward County. Charges against the driver are pending. The southbound lanes of I-95 are currently blocked off as authorities investigate the incident.
