Fatal multi-vehicle collision in Long Beach
Two individuals lost their lives in a multiple-vehicle collision in Long Beach on Sunday evening. The Long Beach Police Department responded to the crash near Atlantic Avenue and Sixth Street around 10:14 p.m. Officers administered aid to five adults until fire department personnel arrived. Sadly, a man and a woman died at the scene, while three others were taken to the hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening. Police believe that a driver was speeding eastbound on Sixth Street and collided with two other vehicles moving southbound on Atlantic Avenue. The driver fled the scene before authorities arrived and the incident is under investigation by the police.
