Fatal hit-and-run crash at midnight church service slays Mass. woman, per DA
Law enforcement officials are currently looking into a tragic hit-and-run incident that occurred in New Bedford, Massachusetts, on New Year's Eve. Nicolassa Ventura Colaj, a 33-year-old resident of New Bedford, was involved in the crash as she was leaving a church event with her family on Acushnet Avenue shortly after midnight. She was hit by a SUV that then left the scene. Although details about the vehicle are not yet known, The New Bedford Police Department and the Bristol County District Attorney's Office are actively investigating the incident.
