Fatal crash on Highway 3
A fatal incident involving an 18-wheeler log truck occurred on Highway 3, resulting in the driver's demise. The accident happened in Warren County, Mississippi, when the loaded log truck veered off the road, overturned in a ditch, and collided with a drainage structure. This caused the logs to shift forward, trapping the driver under their weight. Emergency responders, including teams from Warren County Fire Service and Vicksburg Firefighters, worked tirelessly for over an hour to extract the driver from the cab by using heavy equipment to lift the logs. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, the driver could not be saved. AirCare also provided assistance, with a medical helicopter landing on the scene. Highway 3 was temporarily closed while the response and recovery efforts took place, and the road will remain shut down as authorities investigate the accident. Alternative routes are advised for commuters.
