Fatal collision on 215 Freeway caused by suspected drunk driver
A tragedy occurred in Riverside when a man lost his life in a fatal collision involving a suspected DUI driver. The incident, which took place on the 215 Freeway near Cactus Avenue, saw a 20-year-old Moreno Valley resident driving in the wrong direction on the highway. Despite law enforcement's efforts to track the vehicle, the driver continued driving on the wrong side of the road, narrowly avoiding collisions with other vehicles until crashing into a Toyota Camry near the Central Avenue exit. Regrettably, the man in the Toyota Camry, identified as Raulder Sotelo, 32, from Riverside, was fatally injured in the crash. The driver responsible for the collision sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital, but no details about their identity were provided by the California Highway Patrol. While investigations into the tragic incident are ongoing, authorities suspect that alcohol or drugs may have played a role.
