Chambersburg woman killed in Thursday afternoon crash in Quincy Township

QUINCY- Pennsylvania State Police confirm that one person has died as a result of injuries sustained in a crash near Tomstown on Thursday afternoon. Calls came in around 3:45pm for a reported three car crash near the intersection of Tomstown Road and Mentzer Gap Road, Quincy Township. Police say that a 2018 Hyundai driven by a 60-year-old Fayetteville woman was traveling east on Mentzer Gap Road and approaching the stop sign while a 2008 Jeep driven by a 30-year-old Waynesboro woman was traveling north on Tomstown Road. Investigators say that the Hyundai struck the Jeep at the intersection before the Jeep struck a nearby pedestrian and another car on the right side of Tomstown Road. Both of the drivers suffered minor injuries and were taken to local hospitals. The pedestrian, Katina Espinosa, 53-years-old of Chambersburg, was pronounced deceased at the scene. An investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
