E-bike rider suffers broken ribs, other serious injuries after colliding with truck
SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A 23-year-old man suffered serious injuries after his e-bike crashed into a Ford truck near Balboa Avenue on Friday afternoon, according to the San Diego Police Department. The man was reportedly riding a Troxus Lynx E-Bicycle westbound in the left-turn lane on Balboa Avenue. Meanwhile, another 23-year-old man was driving a 2024 Ford Lightning truck eastbound on Balboa Avenue when the bicyclist turned left directly in front of the truck, according to authorities. The driver reportedly struck the bicyclist's right side with the front of his truck. According to SDPD, the bicyclist suffered multiple broken ribs, a collapsed lung and a stretched vestibular artery. It was determined that alcohol did not play a factor in the collision.
