E-bike rider sent to hospital after colliding with vehicle in Chula Vista
CHULA VISTA, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — A 25-year-old man riding an e-bike was seriously injured Thursday night after colliding with a vehicle in Chula Vista, authorities said. According to the Chula Vista Police Department, officers and firefighters responded to multiple reports of a collision involving a vehicle and e-bike around 8:29 p.m. near the intersection of Broadway and J Street. When first responders arrived, they found the e-bike rifer suffering from severe injuries. Firefighters immediately began lifesaving efforts before transporting the man, a Chula Vista resident, to a local hospital. According to preliminary findings, the e-bike rider was traveling through a parking lot before entering the northbound lanes of Broadway. A vehicle traveling northbound then struck the rider, police said. CVPD's Traffic Bureau is handling the investigation.
