Driver rescued by Westwego Fire following canal crash
The Westwego Volunteer Fire Department successfully saved a driver who had crashed their car into a canal in the early hours of Sunday morning. They received a call around 2:46 AM about the incident near the Tanglewood Apartments at the Keyhole Canal. Upon arrival, emergency responders found the driver standing on top of the car, seeking help. Through a coordinated effort involving the fire department, Westwego Police, Jefferson Parish deputies, and EMS, the driver was safely rescued unharmed, and the car was recovered from the canal.
