Driver charged in fatal wrong-way crash on I-65 in northwest Indiana
LAKE COUNTY, Ind. (WGN) — A woman was charged in connection with a wrong-way crash on Interstate 65 in northwest Indiana that left one person dead and another seriously injured in February. 29-year-old Jessica Hughes, of Hebron, Indiana, has been charged with the following: Indiana State Police (ISP) said Hughes had a blood alcohol concentration of .18% at the time of the crash. The collision killed Rylee Hanson. Hanson’s passenger suffered serious injuries and was treated at a local hospital. ISP said Hughes later turned herself in to the Lake County Jail after a warrant was issued. She later posted bond. A court hearing in the case is scheduled for April in Lake County Superior Court.
