Deer causes fatal motorcycle crash in southeast Kansas

ALLEN COUNTY, Kan. — First responders say a deer is responsible for a deadly crash in Allen County. According to online crash reports from the Kansas State Highway Patrol, Barry Maley, 68, of Moran, Kansas, was riding a motorcycle on Delaware Road, just west of Elsmore, around 10 Saturday evening. As he approached U.S. 59, troopers say a deer crossed into his path, leading to the crash. According to the report, Maley was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
