Deadly collision shuts down northbound Highway 17 in Los Gatos on Friday

Early Friday morning, a solo vehicle crash on Highway 17 in Los Gatos resulted in the closure of northbound lanes, according to the California Highway Patrol. At 5:44 a.m., one of the lanes was reopened. The lane closure occurred south of Lark Avenue. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes and expect delays in the area. The CHP incident log reported that a Tesla went off an embankment and caused a vegetation fire around 12:30 a.m. The driver, who was alone in the vehicle, was involved in the crash.
