Deadly accident shuts down U.S. Highway 65 by Division Street in Springfield
The Springfield Police Department announced that as of 1 PM, northbound U.S. Highway 65 has been reopened after a fatal crash earlier in the morning. The accident occurred when a Buick rear-ended a Ram and caused a chain reaction collision involving multiple vehicles. Unfortunately, the driver of the Buick sustained fatal injuries. Northbound drivers near Division Street are advised to find alternative routes as all lanes remain closed, with traffic diverted at Chestnut Expressway. The closure is anticipated to continue for a couple of hours, and drivers are encouraged to plan exits at Glenstone Avenue or James River Freeway.
