Crash temporarily shuts down I-24 in Murfreesboro
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) — A multi-vehicle crash temporarily shut down a portion of Interstate 24 in Rutherford County Saturday. According to Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department, the crash happened on I-24 near Mile Market 76 Saturday, July 25. Multiple cars were involved in the crash, with at least two vehicles sustaining "heavy damage," per MFRD. No critical injuries were reported, Murfreesboro authorities said, and the interstate was quickly reopened after stabilizing the scene. Units responding to the incident included Ladder 11, who was first on the scene, as well as Rescue 11, Safety 1, Safety 2, Battalion Chief 1, and Battalion Chief 2, MFRD said. No further information was immediately released.
