Coroner: Man dies after being hit by car in Cold Spring
A man is dead after being hit by a car in Campbell County Thursday night, according to the Hamilton County coroner. It happened around 7 p.m. in the 5400 block of Alexandria Pike in Cold Spring.Cold Spring police say responding officers located a pedestrian suffering from serious injuries. Emergency medical personnel transported the pedestrian, identified as Ivan Chandler, 42, of Newport, to UC Medical Center for treatment.Chandler later died as a result of his injuries.Police say the driver involved remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators The crash happened by a busy shopping center, with the nearby intersection closed for hours while officers investigated.Neighbors said a lack of places for pedestrians to walk in the area has been frustrating among people who live here.The crash remains under investigation.
