Clayton police investigate fatal crash after 85-year-old driver dies
CLAYTON, Ohio (WKEF) -- An Englewood man is dead following a crash in Clayton. According to a Clayton Police Department crash report, on June 26 around 8:06 p.m., a Toyota Avalon, driven by David Ford, 85, was driving in the middle lane northbound on State Route 49 when at Sweet Potato Ridge Road, he attempted to make a left turn. Deputies said Ford failed to yield the right of way to oncoming traffic and hit a Honda CRV, which was driving southbound on State Route 48. The Honda CRV then hit a utility pole on the west side of State Route 48. According to the Montgomery County Coroner's Office, David Ford, 85, died due to his injuries sustained in the crash on June 29. The Clayton Police Department is investigating this crash.
