Car crashes into Swansea home, causes gas leak

Swansea police said a rear-end collision caused a vehicle to strike a home on Friday, leading to a gas leak. Officers said they responded to Wilbur Avenue shortly before 6 p.m. for a crash involving a home. Investigators said the driver was attempting to turn into a driveway when they slowed down abruptly, before being struck from behind by another vehicle. Police said the impact caused the first vehicle to leave the roadway and strike the home. The crash damaged the gas meter. The neighboring homes were temporarily evacuated while crews secured the area. Crews repaired the gas leak within a few hours. No injuries were reported. Police said no criminal charged were filed.
