2 dead, multiple injured in crash on the Long Island Expressway
NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Two people have died after officials say a coach bus collided with multiple vehicles on the Long Island Expressway on Monday night. The incident happened before midnight near Exit 16, Greenpoint Avenue. The coach bus was traveling west on the Long Island Expressway when it collided with two vehicles, causing the bus to flip over the median and into oncoming traffic, where it struck two more vehicles, officials say. The driver of the coach bus and one passenger were pronounced dead. Other passengers on the bus and the drivers of the other vehicles involved were taken to the hospital. One of the drivers of a vehicle involved is in critical condition. The crash remains under investigation.
