18-year-old dead, passenger hurt after Knox County crash
An 18-year-old Columbus driver is dead, and a passenger is hurt after a crash on Croton Road in Hilliar Township Saturday night. The Mount Gilead Post is investigating the crash that occurred near White Road in Knox County. Alexander Ocampo-Sanchez, 18, was driving a 2015 Chrysler 200 northbound on Croton Road when he drove off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree. Ocampo-Sanchez died at the scene. His only passenger, a teen from Westerville, was taken to a local hospital with injuries. Both occupants were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. Alcohol and drugs are not suspected factors. The crash remains under investigation.
