1 killed in early-morning crash along I-80/94
LANSING, Ill. — An early-morning crash along I-80/94 in the south suburbs left one person dead on Wednesday. According to Illinois State police troopers, the crash unfolded along the westbound lanes of I-80/94, near Torrence Avenue, in Lansing, at around 5:30 a.m. Troopers said the victim was changing a tire along the roadway when they were struck and killed by a semi. Following the crash, the semi driver stayed on the scene and waited for authorities. Authorities have not yet identified the victim killed. The crash has shut down the two right lanes of WB I-80/94 in the area, and it is unclear how long the closure will remain in place.
