1 dead, 5 hospitalized after Sunday morning crash in Waterbury
WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) -- One person is dead and five people are in the hospital after a crash in Waterbury early Sunday morning, police said. According to the Waterbury Police Department, officers responded to a crash in the area of 91 Chase Avenue at around 12:50 a.m. on Sunday. It was determined that a Subaru Legacy with two passengers and a Mazda 3I with two passengers struck each other, heavily damaging both vehicles. The three occupants of the Subaru were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The three occupants of the Mazda were taken to a local hospital, where the driver is in critical condition. One of the passengers has non-life-threatening injuries and is in stable condition. The other passenger, identified as 18-year-old Luis Cisneros Fletes of Waterbury, died on Sunday morning from injuries sustained during the crash.
