Woman injured in hit-and-run crash in Humboldt Park

CHICAGO — A woman is recovering in the hospital after she was injured in a hit-and-run crash on the city's West Side on Monday evening. According to police, the crash unfolded just before 8 p.m. in the 3100 block of West Franklin Boulevard, in Humboldt Park. Officers said the victim, a 45-year-old woman, was walking north in the area when she was struck by a maroon vehicle that was heading east along Franklin. Following the crash, the driver of the vehicle allegedly fled the scene in an unknown direction. The victim suffered a head injury and was later hospitalized in critical condition.
