2 killed in Smith County head-on car crash Friday evening
SMITH COUNTY, Texas (KETK)-- Two people were killed on Friday evening in Smith County following a head-on car crash. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the crash took place around 6 p.m. on Mixon Road and involved a Toyota Corolla and a Mercedes-Benz. The crash occurred after the driver of the Toyota, identified as Adam Frantz, who was driving northbound on Mixon, crossed into the southbound lane, causing him to hit the Mercedes-Benz head-on, according to officials. Following the crash, the passenger in the Toyota, Ashlee Frantz, was pronounced dead on the scene, while Adam was taken to a local hospital, where he later died. The driver of the Mercedes- Benz was also taken to the hospital, and their condition remains unknown at this time. The DPS has launched an investigation into the crash and no further information will be released at this time.
