Fiery crash shuts down 210 Freeway near Hansen Dam

A fiery multi-car crash temporarily shut down the 210 Freeway near the Hansen Dam in the San Fernando Valley Saturday. Firefighters with the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a freeway crash west of Osborne Street involving at least two vehicles on the westbound side of the 210 at 5:48 p.m. Firefighters extinguished a burning box truck at the scene. Four people were assessed for injuries suffered in the crash. At least one person was seen loaded into the back of an ambulance, video of the scene shows. It’s unclear how many people were hospitalized due to the wreck at this time. All westbound lanes of the freeway were closed shortly before 6 p.m. while crews attempted to extinguish the flames and clear the crash from the roadway, according to the California Highway Patrol.  At 7 p.m., one lane was reopened, according to CHP. Multiple lanes remain closed while crews work to clear the crash from the freeway. According to initial reports received by the CHP, a wrong-way driver may have been speeding into oncoming traffic before the crash. However, CHP has not confirmed if this information is accurate at this time. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. KTLA will provide more details on the crash when they are available.
