Woman injured after car flips in Raleigh crash; Atlantic Avenue closed with lines, pole down

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) -- A major crash that injured a woman closed down Atlantic Avenue in Raleigh on Saturday afternoon, police said. The wreck was reported around 2:55 p.m. in the 4100 block of Atlantic Avenue near Harrod Street, according to the Raleigh Police Department. A driver flipped a car in the single-vehicle crash that involved hitting a power pole, police said. Power lines and the pole were down on Atlantic Avenue with the crashed car entangled in the lines. A woman was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening, officers said. Atlantic Avenue is closed between New Hope Church Road and Millbrook Road, police said. The road was still closed as of 7:30 p.m. while officers said there was no timetable for reopening Atlantic Avenue. No other information was available.
