Motorcycle crash in Torrington leaves two hospitalized with critical injuries
TORRINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) — Two people were hospitalized with critical injuries after a motorcycle crash in Torrington on Saturday evening, according to police. Emergency crews received reports of a motorcycle crash and responded to the area of Winsted Road around 7:08 p.m. Investigators said a motorcycle traveling southbound lost control, left the roadway and ejected both the operator and passenger. The driver was identified as Robert Hackett, 58, of Winsted. Police said he suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to St. Mary's Hospital. He remained in critical but stable condition following the crash. The passenger, Kelly Maloney, 54, of Torrington, was evaluated at the scene before being flown by Life Star helicopter to Hartford Hospital for further treatment. Police said she was listed in critical but stable condition. The Torrington Police Department's Accident Investigation Team responded to investigate the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
