1 rider dies after crash involving 2 motorcycles in Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — An overnight crash on Friday involving two motorcycles led to the death of one rider and serious injuries for another rider, according to police. Portland police said they responded to a crash at 11:14 p.m. involving two motorcycles on Northwest St. Helens Road and Northwest Front Avenue. Officers said when they arrived at the scene, both drivers required medical attention. During the investigation, Northwest St. Helens Road was closed between Northwest Front Avenue and Northwest Balboa Avenue. At the time, both drivers, who remain unidentified, were treated for serious injuries, and one of them had life-threatening injuries. However, on Saturday morning, it was confirmed that one of the drivers died as a result of their injuries. The cause of the crash has not been revealed.
