Car slams into pedestrians during street takeover hit-and-run, 2 hospitalized

Two people were seriously injured after they were hit by a car during a street takeover event in the North Hills neighborhood of the San Fernando Valley Sunday evening. Paramedics responded to the emergency at the intersection of Plummer Street and Haskell Avenue at 5:55 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Video of the crash shows the car slam into the pedestrians, knocking one unconscious. The other victim suffered a severely broken leg, gruesome video of the crash shows. The driver involved in the crash fled the scene, the Los Angeles Police Department told KTLA. The involved car was a black sedan, video of the crash shows. Both victims were hospitalized due to their injuries. One of the victims suffered severe injuries, police said. Police have not released any other details about the crash at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
