Woman hospitalized after hit-and-run in NC 3-car crash

A woman who exited her vehicle after a car accident in Raleigh on New Bern Avenue was harmed by a hit-and-run driver on Saturday night, as per the Raleigh Police Department. The crash, involving three cars, happened shortly after 8:05 p.m. in east Raleigh on the westbound side of New Bern Avenue near Sunnybrook Road. Following the collision near Interstate 440, the woman emerged from her car to assess the situation and was struck by a driver in another vehicle that was passing by. The woman sustained injuries that are believed to be not life-threatening and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The vehicle that fled the scene had no description provided by police later that night. No injuries were reported in the initial three-car crash, and lanes on the westbound side of New Bern Avenue were closed for about an hour. Police remained at the scene until at least 9:45 p.m., according to an NCDOT camera.
