Trial set for man accused in 12-vehicle crash that left 3 people dead

The man accused of causing a 12-car crash that left three people dead is set to go to trial later this year. Jose Gutierrez appeared in court this morning for a status check. He is facing several felony charges, including murder with use of a deadly weapon and reckless driving resulting in death or substantial bodily harm. This comes after police say Guiterrez intentionally caused a crash to kill his girlfriend , Adilene Duran-Rincon, at the intersection of Cheyenne Avenue and Jones Boulevard in November. According to investigators, Guiterrez was speeding in an Infiniti coupe when he collided with several cars stopped or slowing down for a red light. Duran-Rincon, along with two others, died as a result of the crash. Guiterrez's trial is now set for November 30. He is due back in court for trial readiness on September 9.
