Woman dead after vehicle crashes into canal in Stanislaus County
A woman died after a vehicle crashed into a canal in Stanislaus County on Wednesday, according California Highway Patrol. CHP said officers received reports around 1:45 p.m. of a vehicle inside the Delta-Mendota Canal. Dive teams also responded to the scene to search for the vehicle.The vehicle was pulled from the canal after 5:30 p.m., footage from LiveCopter 3 showed. Authorities told KCRA's Anahita Jafary that a woman was in the car and was pronounced dead. CHP said officers don't suspect any foul play. A road closure was in place on Howard Road from Interstate 5 to Stark Road. The road has since reopened. This is a developing story. Check back with KCRA3 for the latest updates.
