INDIAN LAND, S.C. (WKRC) - A woman died in a freak accident after being struck by her own vehicle. According to WBTV, 63-year-old Margaret McWeeney was killed in a freak accident when she was struck by her own vehicle in the parking lot of an apartment complex in Indian Land, South Carolina, on Wednesday. Per the report, authorities believe McWeeney had stepped out of her vehicle while it was still in reverse. When she noticed the car was rolling backward, she reportedly attempted to get back into the vehicle but accidentally stepped on the gas. WCCB reported that the vehicle accelerated while in reverse, striking McWeeney and hitting multiple other vehicles. McWeeney died at the scene, according to WCCB. The crash remains under investigation, according to the reports.
