Woman dies after crashing into pole on Highway 50 in El Dorado County, CHP says
At least one person died Wednesday morning after a crash along Highway 50 in El Dorado County, the California Highway Patrol said.Officers responded to the crash on the westbound lanes at Silva Valley Parkway, but CHP said the crash happened sometime between 2 and 3 a.m. A woman was by herself in a vehicle when she crashed into a pole and died at the scene.CHP said she has not yet been identified and is still looking for an ID card before officials can begin the process of notifying next of kin.Pictures show the vehicle was mangled from the crash impact.Details were not released as to what caused the crash. There does not appear to be any impact on freeway traffic.This crash is separate from another one that happened Tuesday afternoon on eastbound lanes, involving a pickup truck, where a male driver in his 20s was ejected and died at the scene.
