Woman charged with DUI manslaughter for fatal crash on Hwy 29 in Escambia County
ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. -- A 29-year-old woman is charged with DUI manslaughter for a fatal crash on Highway 29 in Escambia County last October. Kelcey Eyl turned herself in to authorities Friday around 2 a.m. on a warrant issued by Florida Highway Patrol. She is charged with DUI Manslaughter and two counts of DUI Serious Bodily Injury. The crash happened the night of Oct. 11 on Highway 29 near Woodbury Circle. FHP says Eyl was driving a car when she crossed the median and collided head-on with a SUV. Eyl suffered critical injuries, while her passenger -- a 30-year-old Cantonment man -- died in the crash. The occupants of the other vehicle -- a 72-year-old Flomaton man and a 70-year-old Flomaton woman -- both sustained serious injuries. Eyl is being held in Escambia County Jail without bond.
