Woman charged with DUI in accident that injures dirt bike rider in Fayette County
FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (WVNS) -- A woman was arrested and charged with a DUI after a crash that injured someone riding a dirt bike over the weekend. According to criminal complaint, deputies responding a report of a dirt bike rider being hit by a car on Hawyer Road just after 7:37 PM on Friday March 13, 2026. Once on scene, deputies noticed a Jeep in the roadway that had look like it had been hit and a green dirt bike laying on its side 20-30 feet in front of the Jeep. There was noticeable damage to both the Jeep and dirt bike. The victim on the dirt bike was reported to be a juvenile and their identity was not released. The victim was seen wearing a helmet while being treated for multiple serious injuries. These tests were failed. Rivera also reportedly did not agree to a sample of her breath being taken at the scene of the accident. Rivera did reportedly tell investigators that she had four "Millers" before driving. The victim was taken by helicopter to CAMC to be treated for the injuries sustained. Rivera was taken to the Fayette County Sheriff's Office where a a sample of her breath showed a reading of 0.113. Rivera was charged with DUI Causing Bodily Injury and is currently being held in Southern Regional Jail. Stick with 59News for updates.
