Woman charged in deadly interstate collision in west Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Charges have been filed against a woman police say was involved in a fatal crash on Interstate 270 in west Columbus. According to an updated incident report, the Columbus Division of Police said that a woman who allegedly crashed into two vehicles parked along the shoulder of I-270 South will be charged with aggravated vehicular homicide. Police said that 30-year-old Jaricah Wright was arrested at the scene after she reportedly drove her 2011 Audi A4 into two vehicles. The crash occurred on Monday at 2:40 a.m. when two adults were changing a tire on a Toyota minivan in the eastside shoulder of I-270 South near the Georgesville Road exit. Wright, who police said was initially driving in the wrong direction but self-corrected the vehicle, failed to maintain control of the Audi and slammed into the back of a Toyota Corolla that was parked behind the minivan. The impact of the crash launched the Toyota into the minivan and also struck 45-year-old Jodi Tackett. Tackett was pronounced dead at the scene by Franklin Township medics, and a second victim was hospitalized in critical condition. For a previous report on this story view the video player above.
