WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. (WFLA) — A 70-year-old Wesley Chapel man is behind bars after the Florida Highway Patrol said he was involved in a fatal collision on Saturday night and fled the scene. The crash happened at around 11 p.m. on June 6, involving a Honda CRV, driven by Jaykumar Patel, and a Yamaha motorcycle, FHP said. Driving the motorcycle was a 31-year-old Zephyrhills man, and his passenger was a 32-year-old Zephyrhills woman. Patel was traveling north on Handcart Road, approaching the motorcycle that was coming from the opposite direction. FHP said he turned left onto Old Bridge Road, entering the path of the motorcycle and causing a collision.
