Man killed after being hit by car while lying in roadway in Durham, police say
DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — A Durham man was killed late Monday night after police said he was struck by a vehicle while lying in the roadway. According to the Durham Police Department, officers responded around 10:39 p.m. to a crash on North Miami Boulevard near Braxton Street. Investigators said a black 2025 Honda Accord was traveling northwest on North Miami Boulevard when it struck 39-year-old Armonte Donovan Self of Durham. A preliminary investigation indicates Self was lying in the roadway before the collision, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation. Police said they urge anyone who witnessed the crash or has information about it to contact Investigators E. Gonzalez or A. Roberts at 984-259-4550.
