WATCH: Bodycam video of Tiger Woods handcuffed, arrested for DUI after rollover crash in Florida
Newly released bodycam video shows the moment golf legend Tiger Woods was arrested for DUI following a rollover crash on Jupiter Island, Florida, last Friday. The video shows Martin County Sheriff's Office deputies speaking with Woods at the scene and administering a sobriety test. It also captures Woods’ demeanor and his responses to deputies’ questions.Legal expert and former state attorney Dave Aronberg said the footage could play an important role in the case. Prosecutors, he said, are likely watching for signs of impairment, while the defense may point to Woods’ cooperation and demeanor. Aronberg said jurors are likely to focus on Woods’ behavior in the video rather than on his celebrity status. Before a field sobriety test, body camera footage shows a deputy discussing with Woods what medication he took.Woods acknowledged taking the medication the morning of the crash and can also be seen hiccupping as he speaks with deputies.A deputy then administers Woods a field sobriety test. After completing the test, a deputy instructs Woods to turn around and place his hands behind his back and declares him under arrest.“I do believe your normal faculties are impaired and you are under an unknown substance,” the deputy said to Woods.“Are you going to arrest me,” Woods states while the deputy is handcuffing Woods. After he was handcuffed, deputies removed personal items from Woods’ pockets.A deputy then found “narco” pills in Woods’ pocket.“That’s a narco,” Woods said. Deputies placed the pills in an evidence bag.Below: Video shows Tiger Woods field sobriety test, being placed under arrestBelow: Video shows Tiger Woods in back of cruiserRelated story: Tiger Woods involved in rollover crash on Jupiter Island Related: Affidavit: Tiger Woods looked at phone before crash; deputies note glassy eyes, pills foundThe 50-year-old entered a plea of not guilty on both charges stemming from the crash.
