LOCKE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) -- A 65-year-old was killed in a car crash in Cayuga County on Sunday, July 19. A Cayuga County Sheriff's Office statement said that at about 7:10 p.m., deputies went to state Route 38 in Locke, south of Tucker Hill Road, for a report of a single-vehicle crash. A preliminary investigation concluded a gray Toyota Rav-4 was moving northbound on state Route 38 when it crossed the center line, left the roadway's left shoulder, and hit a tree. The Toyota's only occupant, 65-year-old Lester Doolittle, was declared dead at the scene, the sheriff's office said. The New York State Police, Cayuga County 911, Cayuga County Coroner's Office, Four Town Ambulance and the Locke Fire Department were also involved in the scene.
