Walter Grissom Road reopens after a fatal crash overnight in Franklin County, troopers say
FRANKLINTON, N.C. (WNCN) — Troopers are investigating the circumstances around a fatal crash just after midnight Sunday in Franklin County. An alert from the North Carolina Department of Transportation was sent around 12:21 a.m. that Walter Grissom Road was closed near General Green Road, which is just north of Franklinton. According to the communications team at N.C. State Highway Patrol, one fatality was confirmed as a result of the crash. Troopers are still investigating what caused the crash. NCDOT said Walter Grissom Road reopened around 5:26 a.m. Sunday, five hours after the crash.
